The Itsy Bitsy Spider Banner

Today was a bit of a long day for me. Mainly, because I had a lot of "work" to do and not much time to do anything crafty. After I brought Lil Monkey home from school, I had about 30 minutes beer we had to tackle homework, mother dinner, dishes and other evening chores. While he took a 30 minute break and played off, some energy, I looked around my craft area to see what project I could work on. Unfortunately, Price Charming's office and my craft space are in the same room and since he was elbow deep in emails and paperwork, I decided to try a quick no-sew project that I'd been thinking about recently.

I grabbed some scrap spider fabric, a spool of ribbon and some scraps of shiny and glittery fabric that was in a scrap bag given to me. I also grabbed a panel of Quiltsmart's Practical Arts Banner Flags

I simply ironed the banner flags to the back side of the spider fabric and cut them out. Next I glued the banner triangles to the ribbon about 3 inches apart from each other with 13 inches of extra ribbon on each end. Lastly, I cut strips of black, glittery material into 1inch stripes and tied the to the ribbon between the banner triangles. And this is what it looked like ...

I am so happy with how it turned out, though trying to photograph it led to a little drama, and me falling off a step ladder trying to get "the perfect shot!" Oh, well. I made it short because I want to hang it on our glass storm door for Trick or Treaters, and then thought that it looked kind of tiny when I tried to photograph it ... I over think things. I finally decided to just post it and stop trying to be an award-winning photographer!

(Yep, that's a photo of my losing my balance!)

Until our next cup of tea ...
