It's official! I am having way too much fun with this Layer Cake Sampler by Material Girl Quilts! In January, I invited readers to join me as I start a new project, and year long Quilt Sampler. I truly love half-square triangles, though when I was first introduced to them, we had a love/hate relationship.
I have been working on 2 blocks a month as she did when the sample was initially introduced and the pink and green fabrics I chose are definitely keeping me motivated.
As some may recall, its been an busy month with unexpected surprises, including my husband making two trips to the ER in a week due to a nasty virus that knocked him off his feet for nearly 5 days! I also got around to transferring my freelance marketing into the birth of a new business, LindseyRose Marketing and I am working with a variety of quilt companies and shops. I'm in heaven! This week we have Spring Break which is busy with activities as well as work, but all in all, it seems like a bit more overwhelming than it has turned out to be.
I started this month’s two blocks while my husband was ill and finally put them together this week during Spring Break.
While they have some seams that are a bit off, I wanted to photograph them and get this month’s blocks posted so you can see them. I’ll probably work on fixing them later this week or next when Lil Monkey returns to school.
I can’t wait to explore what other blocks will be added to this sample, and for the most part have only looked at the current and previous month’s blocks, so each one will be exciting and new when I get to it.
Here is a preview of the schedule for this Block of the Month. If you'd like to join, there is still time to catch up.
