Welcome Home ...

I'm back! Back on the blog, back in the studio, back on the sewing machine! My first project is to finish some blocks for a block exchange I'm doing with a group of military spouses on White Walls' Needle Facebook Group.

It's my 3rd exchange with them, you may remember the Valentine's rug mugs. I definitely have fun with this group and try to do a project at least once a quarter.

The current project was using Spring florals and spring theme patterned fabric and spring colored cottons to create squares in squares block for a final trim sized block of 8 1/2" (so when sewn into a quilt top it measures 8" square). A lot of the participants are making fun center square blocks, like pinwheels, but some of the newbies or busy participants like me made simple 4 1/2" square blocks with 2 1/2" borders, so there will be quite the variety.

I am seriously in love with the fabric in the center and got 2 yards when I saw it. This didn't take nearly 1/4 of that, so I am going to make another quilt with it as well. A simple, colorful Spring quilt for sure. I'l, post photos when I get my blocks, these will go in the mail tomorrow after I square them up. What Spring inspired projects are you working on?

Until our next cup of tea ...
