I'm back in my studio working on the Layer Cake Sampler by Material Girl Quilts and I couldn't be happier! It's been 3 months since I've been able to work on most of my projects because we moved sooner than we thought we would ... a whole year sooner!
But last month I got my studio back in order and began working on catching up. I left off in March with Blocks 5 & 6, so to catch up, I will be posting a set each Wednesday until I am caught up, should only be a month until I'm back on track.
This week I worked on Blocks 7 & 8. These two were actually my favorite two Half-Square Triangle patterns. The first, Block 7, is is a classic pattern with the alternating fabrics. I was actually hesitant about this yellow fabric. It was a new one that I'd found recently and though I'm not a fan of yellow, I loved the softness of it. it turned out better than I imagined.
Block 8 is a pinwheel, one of my favorite blocks to make. Big, small, medium-sized. I love pinwheels and this one was no different!!! I have quite a few projects with pinwheels and I never get tired of them!!
I am certainly loving this project. I can't wait to see what blocks there will be in the upcoming months, but be sure to check back in next Wednesday for Blocks 9 & 10. Almost half way done!!
