A Visit to Quiltsmart at Quilt Market

As many of you know, I have been a Quiltsmart Ambassador for a few years, and was the first blog to be help launch their program. I certainly made time to visit the Quiltsmart booth at the International Quilt Festival in Houston this week. There are so many new and exciting projects that they have introduced this past year and I was excited to see these projects in person. Here is a pictorial view of my exploration of their booth:

I think what I was most excited about was seeing the Lonestar Quilt designed by Carolyn Murfitt of Free Bird Quilting Designs. Her design, Deconstructed Lonestar was made using Quiltsmart's Lonestar panels. It was absolutely beautiful and worth seeing it in person.

The Deconstructed Lonestar alone is an amazing and modern twist on a classic pattern, but her fabric choices and quilting ... stunning. Seeing this beautiful quilt in person was breathe-taking. I am so glad that earlier this year I was introduced to @FreebirdQuiltingDesigns on Instagram. Weeks, maybe a few months later I learned she was also a huge fan of Quiltsmart.

She has made many amazing Lonestar Quilts, and other Deconstructed Lonestars. I don't know how she finds the creativity to make each one beautifully unique, but she does. Make sure to check her out on Instagram because you will definitely walk away #CreativelyInspired.

Until our next cup of tea ...
