Seeing Stars Block-of-the-Month No. 10

This has certainly been a busy month in general and a busy year for projects. Today we went to Texas City, Texas, to our monthly meeting for the Seeing Stars Block-of-the-Month at Cactus Quilts. I haven't been very consistent with posting photos but we just finished Blocks No. 10, matching 12-inch and 6-inch blocks.

The block was part of Seeing Stars by Turning Twenty by Tricia Cribbs.

I'll try to remember to post photos of all of the blocks when I get the last block finished.

I was down to the wire, making the 12-inch block Wednesday and the 6-inch block yesterday, but it was easy going. This one was quite fun because my mom let me make the flying geese using some of her rulers. She actually gives lectures and one is about different ways to make Flying Geese Blocks, because like the Half-Square Triangle, there is more than one way. I'm going see if I can get her to do a tutorial with me. It could be fun, or I could drive her insane - that's the fun part!

Its hard to believe we have done this for more than 10 months. My mom and grandmother are doing the project with me and I am excited to see how different they are, if there are any differences, once we finish the tops. I have to say, traditionally with these block projects, I am horrible at finishing them once I get them all done, so next year's goal will be to take all my Projects Half Finished and take them to the finish line, so to speak. I am totally the hare versus the tortoise in these types of things. I usually have so much going on that I set something aside and start something new, but I get bored easily, so its what works best for me, even if I do have to be a drill sergeant every few years and make myself finish projects,

Well, off to make the table cloth and runner for our ThanksMas gathering on Friday!

Until our next cup of tea ...
