What a whirlwind week we had last week, I am still recovering from our "Explore Houston" Spring Break adventures. We visited a lot of places that we always say we will go but put off until "another weekend" because we live so close. The Children's Museum of Houston was a full day of adventure, Space Center Houston was "out of this world", and we even burned some energy at a local trampoline park (and by "we" I mean Lil Monkey).
I didn't get a lot of time in the studio or at the sewing machine, but I did get some projects done. In addition to Blocks 6 & 7 of the ongoing Sewcial Bee Sampler which I will post later this week after I finish block 8 since it comes out tomorrow, and the Pinwheel Project, I also started this cute mini quilt made with a few "orphaned fat quarters" I found at the Cactus Quilts in Texas City, Texas. (By far one of my top 3 favorite quilt shops!)
Here is a further view so you can understand the size ...
And here is a view of what our sitting room looks like after Spring Break! I am scared for summer!
I made the small table topper sized quilt from an image I saw online. I wish now that I had written down where it was from, but it was only a week or so after I saw it that I decided I wanted to make it and drew a image on scratch paper and kind of "figured it out". If I find a pattern, I'll let you know.
I finished this one last night because there was a slight hiccup with finishing this weekend ... my Tahoe overheated and we were stranded for a few hours while my ever-so-handy husband fixed it. I am so excited to get started on some bright, Spring colored projects as it heats up here in South Texas. With the temperatures already reaching 80s during the day, I'm looking forward to staying in the air conditioning!
Until next time, stay #CreativelyInspired!
